Board Changes and Termination of Offer Discussions

Brinkley Mining Plc announces the following changes to senior management and Board positions.

Richard Linnell, previously non-executive Director and Deputy Chairman, is appointed as Non-executive Chairman and Dunbar Dales joins the group as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Company with immediate effect. A new Finance Director will be appointed imminently.

Gerard Holden and Kiran Morzaria will step down from the Board with effect from 31 May 2008 and Donald Strang will relinquish his Board position on appointment of a new Finance Director, which is anticipated to be on or before 30 June 2008. 

Commenting on the changes Richard Linnell, Non-executive Chairman, said:

 "I am delighted that Brinkley Mining has secured the services of Dunbar. He has significant experience in the mining sector and has previously served on a number of boards. Dunbar has extensive experience working in Africa and is well qualified for the role given his background and professional training as a geologist. I would like to thank Gerard, Kiran and Don for their contribution over the last two years and wish them well in their future endeavours. I am pleased that Gerard has agreed to provide consulting services for the next four months to ensure a smooth handover with the new management team."

Mr Linnell, has been active in the resource sector for nearly forty years and has significant global experience in the development and marketing of resources and commodities. Richard has acted in management roles at Murray and Roberts Construction Group and Samancor, a joint venture between Billiton plc and Anglo American Corporation. He previously was responsible for Billiton PLC's exploration and development activities throughout Africa. Since retirement from a full role at BHP Billiton, he has been intensely involved in risk management in the African context and has interacted with the World Bank and its associates, the IFC and MIGA. Mr Linnell was the originator of the Bakubang Initiative, a Forum designed to revive the SA Mining Industry which lead to the establishment of the New Africa Mining Fund.

Dunbar Hartley Dales, 58, has extensive experience in the minerals industry and has previously worked with both large and small companies. While at South Africa's Gold Fields of South Africa ("GFSA") Dunbar established the Sedimentology Research Unit and had responsibility for the Minerals Marketing, Base Metal Valuation and Project Planning departments. Since leaving GFSA in 1995, Dunbar managed a number of resource companies and two bulk handling terminals at Walvis Bay and Maputo. He was particularly involved as a Director of the Corridor Sands Titanium Project in Mozambique where he was a member of the Executive Management Committee.  Dunbar's responsibilities included government relations, environmental and community issues as well as managing the technical and commercial matters related to the provision of power, water and transport infrastructure. Dunbar obtained BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Cape Town, an MSc in Sedimentology from the University of Reading and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.

Offer Discussions

On 4 April 2008 the Company announced that it had received an approach which might lead to an offer being made for its shares. These discussions have now been terminated.
