Appointment of Alan Thom as Chief Operating Officer

The Board of Brinkley Mining is pleased to announce that Mr Alan Philip MacKenzie Thom has been appointed an Executive Director of the Company and Chief Operating Officer with effect from today.

Mr Thom, aged 31, joins the Company following a recent career with Asia Energy Plc as Business Development Manager. Mr Thom has been instrumental in developing the definitive feasibility study and financing documentation with Barclays Capital as advisors. Before joining Asia Energy, Mr Thom was a mining consultant for Golder Associates and previously held statutory mine management positions for Newmont in both underground and open pit operations. Mr Thom holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree and a post graduate qualification in Finance.

Mr Holden, the Company's Chairman said:

"I am very pleased to have someone with Alan Thom's outstanding industry credentials joining the Company. Alan has a proven track record in developing and operating mining operations."

Mr Thom has been granted 6 million options to subscribe for ordinary shares in the Company at an exercise price of 50p per ordinary share, with a term of 5 years from the date of this announcement.

Alan Thom has not held any directorships in companies or partnerships in the past five years. There are no further details in relation to the above appointment which require disclosure under paragraph (g) (iii) to (viii) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules.
